Get to know Tracy
Years doing and teaching Zumba:
Nine years of teaching
Background (Dance, Fitness etc.) :
I took dance and gymnastic my whole childhood then as an adult I took jazz, hip hop, contemporary and stretch classes and the group I danced with preformed in a show twice a year. I also started my own gymnastic and Acrobatic classes which I taught for 2 years in Campbelltown before I moved to Dubbo.
Favourite thing about teaching Zumba:
My favourite thing about teaching is all the different groups I teach along with getting to see everyone being engaged. Seeing people losing them self in the music. Seeing the smiles. You just know it's helping them mentally and physically.
I've been able to connect with thousands of people through Zumba with Tracy and my other business AllAbiltiesDanz, I love watching the formation and growth of friendships of those that attend my classes along with seeing the results that people are achieving through the support from myself and team members.
Sometimes I have to stop and think about the impact of my business and that I have created an environment for people to just be themselves. I'm very blessed and fortunate to be able to what I am doing.
Favourite song at the moment/ever :
My fav song at the moment is anything new I'm choreographing. I'm so passionate about creating choreography that everyone can enjoy. It gives me a little Zumba high when I finish a new song especially if it's something that's going to push people out of their comfort zones
Proudest Zumba Moment:
My proudest moment, honestly there are just too many. Over the past nine years, I've been apart of 17 fundraising events that I get to attend and work with so many incredible people. I have two fundraisers that stick with me - 'Give Barnsy a reason to smile' - We raised $18,676 for Barnsy to provide him with a new wheelchair and a reason to smile! Along with the 'Liberty Swing' fundraiser - we raised $30,000 to go towards a Liberty Swing that allows wheelchair access!
I suppose its the little things that I am really proud of like, I have had the opportunity to hire Emily and Lincoln who both have Down Syndrome - they both love and thrive in their role.
Just seeing 400 kids going crazy, dancing, singing, laugh and having a blast whilst participation in my school classes is just another highlight for me also.
My current future goals, is to continue the growth of both of my businesses but expanding my AllAbiltiesDanz Program to be a national brand that can be taught as a program to other instructors - this is what I would love to achieve in the long run.
